No year has been more frightening for people with disabilities, their loved ones, and all that support them.
Cuts to programs and services threaten to implode the fragile system of services that we depend on. Over 20,000 people wait on the PUNS list with fingers crossed.
On Thursday, July 22nd, the Family Support Network is pleased to host Director Lilia Teninty of the DHS Division of Developmental Services in a question and answer session.
All are welcomed.

Please provide your questions by noon on Wednesday, the 21st, to Charlotte Cronin at fsn@familysupportnetwork.org. We will organize them as much as possible.
More questions will be taken as time allows.

Tips for a Successful Webinar Experience

3.      The Family Support Network cannot provide technical support during the webinar. Our computers AND minds are busy with the webinar. REALLY! Our hands are full. We cant get to our e-mail because were using the computers for the webinar. Our attention is ON the webinar.

4.      Additional Webinar Tips

If you have any trouble logging into the webinar, please call the Customer Care team toll-free at 1-800-263-6317 or direct dial +1-805-617-7000. Or, email GoToWebinar@citrixonline.com to request assistance.

Make sure your Java is Up-To-Date!

In our test runs of the webinar, a few people have experienced trouble logging in to the webinar.  The problem was the version of Java on their computer and is easily fixed.  This fix takes about 10 minutes, so it would be best to do this before the scheduled webinar.  To check your version of Java, please do the following:

1.      Click START in the lower left corner of your screen and select Control Panel, then double click on Add or Remove Programs.  Scroll down to find your version of Java.  The correct version is Java 6 Update 17 or later. If this is the version you have on your computer, you are finished!

2.      If your version is not what is listed above (or higher), please select your version of Java and click Remove.  When this is finished, log onto www.java.com, then click FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD.

3.      Now you should be able to log onto the webinar with no problem!

Using a VoIP Headset or Calling In

You can talk for free by choosing the Mic and Speakers option. The free VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) option enables you to transmit and receive audio over the Internet at no cost using a microphone and speakers connected to your computer.  This will also give you the most enjoyable experience and the best sound quality. Participants wishing to connect to audio using VoIP will need a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers (a USB headset is recommended for those speaking.)

If you call in with the provided phone number and meeting ID, you will be charged your standard long-distance rate for calling this number, just as if you made a regular long-distance call.

Firewalls

If your personal firewall (ZoneAlarm, Norton Personal Firewall, etc.) is blocking GoToWebinar, you just need to select your firewall's option to allow GoToWebinar to access the Internet.

Select the check box to Remember the answer each time I use this program.

Click Yes to enable GoToWebinar to access the Internet.

If you do not have a personal firewall but are in a "Business Environment," you may have a hardware firewall. Please provide the document found at www.citrixonline.com/iprange to your IT department so that they may allow GoToWebinar to connect.

If a connection still cannot be established, please call our Customer Care team toll-free at 1-800-263-6317 or direct dial +1-805-617-7000. Or, email GoToWebinar@citrixonline.com to request assistance.
