Why The Arc of Illinois?

This Is What We Stand For:

All children with developmental disabilities will live with parents in communities.

“Our children deserve nothing less and so much more”. – Tony Paulauski

Given the proper supports and assistance, all people with disabilities can fully participant in communities and contribute to society.

“The least expensive solution, inclusion, strengthens all of our communities and offers the greatest benefits to everyone”. – Tony Paulauski

All adults with developmental disabilities will live in communities close to family and friends.

“The most basic civil right to choose your own community and who you live with is a right that has been routinely denied to people with developmental disabilities.” – Tony Paulauski

“Since being founded over 50 years ago, The Arc of Illinois continues to actively promote and initiate statewide long-term systemic change for people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the state through our tireless advocacy and innovative programs.”

The Arc of Illinois and The Arc of the U.S. are unique among associations as our voluntary membership is composed of self-advocates, parents, family members, and professionals.
