The Senate will reconvene today after a two week recess. Let's make sure their first priority when they return to Washington is preventing harmful restraint and seclusion in schools!
Last December, Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) introduced S. 2860, the Preventing Harmful Restraint and Seclusion Act. While this bill was passed by the House of Representatives last month, it has not yet advanced in the Senate. We must move this legislation forward in order to safeguard the civil rights, dignity and personal safety of children with disabilities in schools. For more information see:

We're in the final stretch now. If the bill does not get passed by the Senate in the next couple of months, it is unlikely to become law during this Congress. That means we would have to start all over again next year. We have come too far to let that happen!
