President Terri Devine

The Arc of Illinois has some HUGE, POSITIVE news to share!

Please join me in welcoming Meg Cooch as our new Executive Director.  She will begin her duties on Monday, January 30, 2017, and will be at The Arc Leadership Conference on February 2-3, 2017, so plan to attend!

Many of you may know Meg through her time on The Arc of Illinois Board of Directors. What you may not realize about her is that in addition to her work as the chair of our Public Policy Committee and her most recent position as executive director of the Illinois State Alliance of YMCA’s, Meg has a long history of advocacy and grass roots organizing, as well as a deep knowledge of the issues facing people with disabilities and a passion for social justice.

Her qualifications include a masters degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  Tomorrow, Meg will share with you more about her background.

I would like to thank the Search Committee and The Arc of Illinois Board of Directors for the time and energy dedicated to an intensive process that has culminated in the hiring of such a highly qualified, passionate advocate to lead The Arc of Illinois.

Tony Paulauski will officially begin his retirement on February 15 and we will miss his guidance, passion, and leadership, but with Meg Cooch as the new Executive Director, he can retire with confidence that the future of The Arc of Illinois is in good hands.
