20th Annual Conference of QDDPs will be held August 4th-7th in New Orleans.
As an overview of NAQ, The National Association of Qualified Developmental Disability
Professionals was formed in 1996 by Trinity Services staff as the result of a recognized
need by QDDPs – Qualified Developmental Disability Professionals/QIDP Qualified
Intellectual Disability Professionals (also known as Case Managers) to establish a strong
resource for research, networking, and addressing issues that concern QDDPs today.
Although there were a few states that had formed groups by and for QDDPs, the need to
form an organization that would address the historical, conceptual, methodological and
ethical issues confronting the QDDP today on a national level was evident. The National
Conference of QDDPs provides a forum to share information pertinent to the diverse
interests of QDDPs.
This year’s theme, Everyday Well-Being, encourages us to think about how we as
providers can establish well-being in our personal lives and promote healthy living for
people with disabilities. Ultimately, our goal is to develop lifestyles that allow us to flourish
with vitality and touch the lives of those we serve.
We are, therefore, extraordinarily pleased to announce that one of this year’s keynote
presenters is Tom Rath, a well-known speaker and author, Tom has written five of the
most influential books of the last decade. His first book, How Full Is Your Bucket?, was a
#1 New York Times bestseller. His 2007 book, StrengthsFinder 2.0, became Amazon’s
#1 bestselling book worldwide in 2013. Tom’s most recent New York Times bestsellers
are Strengths Based Leadership, Wellbeing, and Eat Move Sleep: How Small Choices
Lead to Big Changes.
