Community Meetings
What Can We Do to Help People with Developmental Disabilities Get Their Own
Individual Apartment?

Self-advocates and family members would often prefer additional housing options to choose
from. In partnership with the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities, CSH and the
Supportive Housing Provider Association will hold a series of community meetings across the
state to talk about housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Meetings
will focus on accessing supportive housing, or affordable housing with services that is
integrated into the community where the tenant has his or her own home/apartment, as well
as opportunities to work together to bring additional resources to your community to increase
the supply of supportive housing for people with DD. All self-advocates, family members,
community members, providers, and interested parties are invited and encouraged to attend.
