The Budgeting for Results Commission will hold its upcoming public hearings in Chicago (September 24th), Carbondale (October 3rd), and Springfield (October 4th) this year.  The purpose of the hearings will consist of gathering public testimony and generating recommendations for the Commission’s November 2012 report.

We invite you to review the attached documents and pass along the information to your colleagues and associates in order to ensure that this year’s public hearings are a success.  Attached you will find:

  1. A public hearing notice (with dates, times, and locations) and an agenda for the public hearings;
  2. A glossary of commonly-used Budgeting for Results terms;
  3. A copy of the Budgeting for Results Strategic Plan, which lays out the future implementation of BFR;
  4. An overview of the Strategy Mapping Process, which will guide the formation of goals for the FY 14 Budget Book; and
  5. A packet of draft strategy maps organized by each FY 13 statewide priority result area.

If you plan to testify at any of the public hearings, please RSVP and submit written testimony.  Any questions or comments can be directed to me by email.

Thank you for your assistance in reforming the State budgeting process.  We look forward to listening to your thoughts and recommendations at one of our three public hearings.

Best regards,
