Yesterday I reintroduced you to the Care Campaign and its important work to increase wages
for Direct Support Professionals (DSP).

Initially we are driving people to the Care Campaign Website to sign the Care Campaign
Online Petition. We also need you to like the Care Campaign on Facebook and to follow us on
Twitter.

Lastly is the Care Campaign Post Card Initiative.

We are ramping up efforts to increase state reimbursement rates to significantly improve DSP
wages. The enclosed post cards are an important part of the Care Campaign, and we hope your
organization will participate.

Please print up the Care Campaign Post Cards with this link:

The post cards urge Governor Quinn to include a $1 increase for DSPs in his FY 15 proposed
budget.  We are asking that you get as many post cards signed as possible and return them to
The Arc no later than Friday, January 10.

We will deliver all of the post cards to the Governor the following week.

Please distribute the post cards to your employees and anyone else you can – family members,
volunteers, etc.

If you feel it would be more effective to ask those signing to mail the post cards directly to the
Governor you may, but we have to ask then that you take responsibility for the postage.  We
would prefer that the postcards be turned in together.

Thank you very much for your work on this important issue.
