This spring the DHS Division of Developmental Disabilities announced the expected enrollment of 400 new participants in the Home-Based Support Services Program. This is such exciting news and the result of the hard work of so many wonderful advocates. THANKS to all of you! The Home-Based Support Services Programs offer a wide range of opportunities. Yet we so easily become mired in what we have always known and the details of “i” dotting and “t” crossing.

This May Michele Westmaas and I are updating the trainings entitled “Dreaming New Dreams; The Home-Based Support Services Programs”.

These all day trainings are designed for participants, their loved ones, and professionals and will be presented in Wheaton on May 9thand Fairview Heights on May 16th..

Please forward this e-mail… or copy and share the brochure from the link below…
Especially those of you who work for our Case Coordination Agencies or as Service Facilitators. Please forward this to families and individuals enrolled in either the Adult or Children’s Home-Based Support Services Programs. We’d like to get the word so that as many as possible have an opportunity to attend what we believe is an excellent training. THANKS!!!

Don’t forget that this  training can be paid for with your Home-Based Support Services funding.
The Arc of Illinois is an approved “Medicaid” provider. Just remember that the training must be written in as part of the Individual’s Service Plan for May.

Please join us as we “Dream New Dreams” for people with disabilities all across Illinois…
Here is link to the brochure and full program: Dreaming New Dreams.

See you in May!
