Illinois NOFAS and College of DuPage to Host the 4th Annual Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Conference.
 
College of DuPage will host the fourth annual Illinois Conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept 28, in the Student Resource Center, room 2000, on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.It is estimated that one in every 50 babies born in Illinois may have been exposed prenatally by alcohol. The FASD conference is designed to heighten awareness and educate participants about the condition, co-occurring conditions, diagnostic criteria’s, treatments and resources available for parents and caregivers. Keynote speaker is Mr. Tom Donaldson, President of NOFAS, other speakers are Tina Wade D.O; Todd Ochs M.D; Stephanie King, School Psychologist and Ajeet Charate, Director Illinois Center for FASD.  The registration fee is $10 per person and includes a boxed lunch. For an additional $10, participants will receive continuing education units which varies by profession (nursing, early intervention, counseling, social work, education, substance abuse professionals, physical and occupational therapists and assistants & domestic violence).
