I am delighted that I have been invited to speak at the Governor’s press conference and signing ceremony today (July 16) on behalf of the Employment First Legislation!The signing ceremony will be part of the ADA Celebration at the Thompson Center at 1:30.

My comments are:

“Once again The Arc salutes Governor Quinn for his vision and leadership on significant disability issues such as Employment First.

Governor Quinn’s direct actions are changing the face of the Illinois Disability System making Illinois a leader in the nation through this Employment First Legislation and his Rebalancing Initiative, moving Illinois away from outdated wasteful state institutions to productive community living.

The Arc was proud to work with the Governor and the Illinois Employment & Economic Opportunity for People with Disabilities Task Force by writing this legislation and moving it through the Illinois General Assembly.

This is a proud day for Illinois citizens with disabilities. Thank you Governor Quinn.”
