Katherine Hamann has been hired as the new Director of The Arc’s Family Transition Program. Our family advocates in this program meet with guardians whose family members live in State Operated Developmental Centers and listen to their histories and their concerns about community living for their relatives. As a guardian of a sister with lifelong disabilities, Katherine identifies with families facing the challenges of transitions. She has been there: her sister lived at Howe Developmental Center. Katherine states her primary goal is to offer hope that a positive transition to community living is possible. Here is a link to the program description: Family Transition Program .
Please welcome Katherine to The Arc and share your success stories with her by emailing: Katherine@TheArcofIL.org
