The Council on Quality and Leadership is the vendor handling outreach for the State
under Ligas. CQL has been reaching out to people with developmental disabilities in
ICFDDs and their guardians about community living opportunities under the Ligas
decree. In addition to this individual outreach, CQL will be holding forums across
the state to provide information about rights under the Ligas decree. Here’s a link
with info on the various meetings across the state over the next few weeks.

Please help us get the word out as broadly as possible. All people who were
residents of ICFDDs in June 2011 are entitled to move into the community by June
2017 if they make a record with the State that they want to transition to the community.
Although people can express their interest to move into the community after June
2017, at that point they will be put on a waiting list. So it’s critical that ICFDD
residents who want to move into the community make a record with the State as
soon as possible.
