Yesterday, Governor Elect Rauner hit the road running and announced his new
Transition Team which included a Board Member from Little City Foundation,
Eleni Bousis. Here is a link to the entire Transition Team.
In his first press conference the Governor Elect talked about Illinois being a
“compassionate” state for vulnerable individuals.
The last transition I worked on was when Governor Blagojevich came into power.
He immediately formed a number of transition committees and recruited
advocates to participate and offer priorities for his Administration to consider.
There was a separate committee on disability. It will be interesting to see how
this transition rolls out.
Last night, Chicago Tonight featured a segment of legislators that work on the
budget committees. Legislators included Senators Heather Steans and Matt
Murphy, Representatives Patti Bellock and Elaine Nekritz. Here is a link to
