SEEKING RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
Work opportunity for people with mental illness and developmental disabilities
——————————————————————
Access Living of Metropolitan Chicago is currently seeking qualified individuals with
mental illness or developmental disabilities to assist in a new project in the Chicago
metropolitan area.
We are looking for people who:
Identify as a person with a developmental disability or mental illness and do not have
any other apparent disabilities. (The research parameters specify particular
identifying characteristics to participate. Since the research project focuses solely on
the experience of people who have developmental disabilities and mental illness,
people who have other apparent disabilities do not qualify for this project.)
Identify as African American or White/Caucasian
Are between the ages of 25-40
Are comfortable meeting new people
Project participants will receive a stipend for completed assignments. This is not a regular
hourly position. These assignments are intermittent, require flexible scheduling, and entail
local travel within Chicago. Schedules will vary but most research assistants will participate
one day per week for several hours. This is a temporary project likely to begin in a couple
of months.
To apply, please contact Kelly Chen at kchen@accessliving.org or 312.640.2146 or Jamie
Wichman at jwichman@accessliving.org or 312.640.2147. Please feel free to contact either
of us with your questions.
