We wanted to make you aware of a recent effort by the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) to draw attention to the use of the subminimum wage at Goodwill Industries International, Inc.
NFB is calling for a boycott of Goodwill stores due to their use of the subminimum wage, and advocating for Congress to take up H.R. 3086, the Fair Wages for Workers with Disabilities Act. The Arc has not taken a position on this legislation.
As a chapter of The Arc that has the approval of the U.S. Department of Labor to utilize the subminimum wage, or a state chapter with one or more local chapter(s) that do, you may receive inquiries from the public and your local media regarding NFB’s actions.
