Time To Act to Protect the Lifeline – Join Webinar to Discuss
Meeting with Your Members of Congress
Medicaid, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and other lifeline programs for
people with I/DD are under attack. It’s time to act! We are calling on all chapters of
The Arc to visit your Members of Congress during the Memorial Day and July 4th
recesses.
To help you prepare, please join us on May 6th at 2pm EST for a webinar on how you
can take action this summer to engage your representatives to help prevent
dismantling of our lifeline. Learn about the latest attacks, get tips for setting up your
visits, and receive fact sheets and talking points for your use in the meetings. And
keep an eye on your email in the coming week as we send out the first of several
public policy toolkits to help you effectively connect with your representatives when
they come home.
We need chapters and advocates to engage with your Members of Congress – now is
the time to act, whether you already have a relationship with your Members of
Congress or this is your first time engaging at this level. We need YOU to show
Members of Congress why the lifeline programs are so vital to the lives and
independence of people with I/DD, and we are giving you a toolkit to help make it
happen.
