Late Thursday afternoon the House and Senate passed a six month stop-gap state budget. What we need is a fully funded state budget that restores all human services. While it is good that the Governor and the Leaders reached agreement, their job is not done.
At this time I am assuming that all Home & Community-Based Waiver services are funded at current levels and continue to be protected by the Ligas Consent Decree. I also assume that those services will continue to be funded without delay because of the Judge’s order but that also remains to be seen.
Developmental Disabilities Grants funded at reduced funding:
The Autism Program $1,505,000
Best Buddies $342,000
Arc Life Span $165,000
Dental Grants $345,000
Out of State Residential $175,000
Respite Care $3,072,300
Epilepsy Services $726,200
We need to see the details to give you a better picture of disability funding.
The Arc Team will continue to seek out the details while I am out of town on vacation.
