Award Nominations for The Arc of Illinois Annual Convention has been extended it to Thursday, March 7, 2013.
 
Please send your submissions in. We know there are wonderful people working to improve the lives of persons with disabilities and we would like to honor as many people as we can.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:
To acknowledge an organization that offers an exemplary, unique and innovative program resulting in people with  intellectual and developmental disabilities achieving full participation in the life of the community. This award is  presented to the provider whose services are a model of  excellence to others promoting inclusive environments.
 
 
LEADERSHIP AWARD:
To recognize a paid staff or a volunteer whose contributions have significantly impacted the lives of children and/or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Recipient will be selected based upon their leadership efforts that have inspired others and influenced positive change.
 
 
LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:   To honor an outstanding self-advocate who is an achieving, included member of  society and has attained full community participation.
 
 
MABLEY VOLUNTEER  OF THE YEAR AWARD:
To honor an exceptional individual who actively devotes time and energy to enhance life experiences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
 
 
MEDIA EXCELLENCE AWARD: To honor outstanding media efforts that enhance the public’s awareness of issues faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The media project receiving this award must represent people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with dignity and respect, highlight the issues with clarity and promote a positive image.
 
 
OUTSTANDING FAMILY MEMBER ADVOCATE AWARD:
To recognize a family member who actively devotes time and energy to enhance the life experience for their family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
 
QIDP/CASE MANAGER AWARD:
 
To acknowledge an individual for their outstanding dedicated service as a QIDP/Case Manager for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
