Grants Available for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Prevention
The Arc’s Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Prevention Project is joining forces
with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and other partners to
reduce the incidence of FASD through increased health care provider knowledge of the
risks alcohol can pose to a fetus and the use of FASD prevention strategies.
Chapters of The Arc are invited to apply for competitive grants from a $1.3 million
cooperative agreement from HRSA (Grant #U1HMC26371). The Arc will use $65,000
from this agreement through August 2016 to support chapters to personally meet with
health care providers and deliver our message that no amount of alcohol is safe during
pregnancy. All chapters will be provided with an FASD Prevention toolkit and The Arc
will award competitive mini-grants (from $500-$2,000 based on the scope of the local
effort and community size) to chapters that commit to an outreach plan to health care
providers.
An application for the first round of funding is due April 30. Apply now, get more
information or ask questions by contacting FASDInfo@thearc.org.
If you do not want to receive future email from The Arc, please e-mail us with the
