When you read this, Brian Rubin, The Arc of Illinois President and Bill Bogden, Chairperson of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities will be heading up a delegation of 20 disability advocates at the annual Disability Policy Seminar in Washington D.C. In addition to the seminar, an important part of our participation in the Disability Policy Seminar will be visits to meet with Illinois Senators Durbin and Kirk and other members of the Congress.The seminar and our meetings with members of the Congress will focus upon six important disability issues. Here are links to those issues so you too can meet with your United States Representatives and advocate for important federal issues before the Congress. Remember public policy impacts every aspect of the life of a person with a disability. If you do not educate your elected representatives on our important issues everyone suffers.
