This week I will be in Washington D.C. for our Annual Disability Policy Seminar. We have
23 attendees from Illinois this year for two full days of training on federal disability policy
and Wednesday, we head to the Hill to meet with our Senators and Representatives. I
have scheduled meetings with Senior Staff for both Senators Durbin and Kirk. About
600 advocates from across the nation are expected to join us for the seminar.

You can follow our activities on The Arc of Illinois Facebook Page!

Take a look at our agenda for the next three days. It is very impressive, and I am delighted
to say some of our leaders from Illinois will be speaking at the seminar, including The Arc
U.S. President Nancy Webster and The Arc of Illinois Board Member Amie Lulinski!

There are many opportunities for networking with other advocates, and I will host an Illinois
Dinner for our delegation. The Arc of Illinois Board Members joining me at the seminar
include Amie Lulinski, Nora Fox Handler and Deb Sheppard.

Here are the Fact Sheets on the federal disability policy issues we will be working on and
sharing with our elected representatives.
