Leaders in The Arc:
I got back from a great Arc Convention in Denver last night and ready for a busy week.
Last Friday I was contacted by the Governor’s Office. They want to meet with The Arc and other advocates to talk about the closing of Mabley and Jacksonville today so I am headed to Chicago this morning. Also this morning, Phil and Shirley Perez are meeting with Rep Golar, Chairperson of the Disability Services Committee.
Later this afternoon Phil, Shirley and I are meeting with Rep Patti Bellock to discuss institutional closing and continued budget problems in the community.
We have a lot of work in Washington D.C. the news there is not good, more on this later this week.
