Here is a working draft outline of some of the sessions being planned for our Annual Leadership
Conference. Plan on joining us!

 Lilia Teninty – Managed Care with a Touch of 1115

Former Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities< now a national consultant< will
share her perspective on the national movement to managed care for services/supports to
individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and implications for Illinois.
She will also comment on the Illinois 1115 Transformation Waiver.

Tony Records – Ligas Implementation Next Steps.

The Ligas Court Monitor will discuss recommendations of his second annual report including
barriers class members are facing as they move off the waiting list and out of ICFDD’s.
Presentations will also cover outreach to class members in ICFDD’s and advocacy for class
members moving off the waiting list.

Director’s Casey & Romano – System Change in the Developmental Disability System.

True rebalancing of the Developmental Disability System requires reinventing the way we support
people through person centered planning, individual service coordination, flexible day services,
employment first and innovative living models. Directors Casey and Romano will share with you
recent proposals to move Illinois toward more inclusive community services.

Laura Owens – “Moving Towards Employment First in Illinois.

Laura Owens, Executive Director of ASPE, will share the national changes now taking place to move
toward Employment First and what Illinois can expect as it moves from day training to employment
first. Laura will also discuss the MA Blueprint for Employment and closing workshops.

Nancy Webster – President The Arc of the United States – The Arc Working for You for
Better Tomorrows.
