Last week The Arc’s Executive Forum met via webinar. Our speakers included Mark Doyle, Transition of Care, Office of the Governor; Thomas Cook, Executive Director, Rehabilitation for Wisconsin and Dale Mitchell, Assistant Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago.
Director Romano, Tony and Mark Doyle
I wanted to share with you the PowerPoint presentations each of these individuals shared with our Executive Forum members:
1. Mark works closely with Director Casey on the Governor’s Rebalancing Initiative. The Murray Developmental Center is now scheduled to close on October 31, 2013. Mark’s presentation was about how providers can assist in the Rebalancing Initiative.
2. Thomas is a good friend of The Arc. He gave a keynote presentation at last year’s Leadership Conference. At that time he walked us through Wisconsin’s managed care system which includes supports and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This past August, advocates filed a lawsuit against the State of Wisconsin and its managed care initiative. Thomas’ presentation was a review of the Wisconsin Managed Care Lawsuit.
3. Dale Mitchell has been working with the Dept of Health Care & Family Services on the evaluation of Phase One of the Integrated Care Pilot. His presentation was “Year One Evaluation of Integrated Care.”
Also if you want to learn about the Governor’s Rebalancing Initiative and real systems change in Illinois, join us at The Arc’s Annual Leadership Conference, February 7-8, 2013 at the Hilton Lisle.
