This is going to be another active week for The Arc.

This afternoon the Care Campaign will meet to discuss next steps on increasing wages for Direct
Support Professionals. We had an excellent Editorial from the State Journal Register on the need
for increased wages.

Two bills have also been introduced by the Care Campaign:  House Bill 3698 by Rep Gable and
Senate Bill 2604 by Senator Steans. You should ask your Representatives and Senators to
become Sponsors of these two important bills.

Tomorrow and Wednesday we will be in the Capitol with the Going Home Campaign. Our
objective is to meet with Representative and Senators to support Governor Quinn’s Rebalancing
Initiative.

Friday its back to Chicago for meetings on the Rebalancing Initiatives and the Governor’s
Northeastern Illinois Public Transit Task Force Meeting.

Remember, The Arc’s Day in the Capitol is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th! We will once
again be working with the Going Home Campaign. Be there!
