The Arc has been offered an amazing opportunity. The Obama Administration has invited The Arc to bring our chapter leaders to The White House for a “Community Leaders Briefing”. The program includes updates from high level White House staff, policy breakout sessions and a tour of the East Wing. I will be attending this along with two board members. This is a prime example of the new Arc and why we need to be supporting The Arc of the United States!I am expecting the Governor to make a statement on the closing of the next State Operated Developmental Center soon, if not today.
The Arc has hired the firm of Morreale Public Affairs Group, Inc. to develop a media campaign to educate the public and policy makers about the importance of rebalancing of the disability system in Illinois.
The Board of Directors of Envision, Unlimited (formerly known as CARC) is pleased to announce the selection of Raymond V. Janutis as Envision Unlimited’s President and CEO effective March 31, 2012. Mr. Janutis will be replacing Kristin V. MacRAE who is retiring at the end of March. Ms. MacRAE and Mr. Janutis will be working together over the next few months to assure a smooth transition in leadership. We look forward to working with Raymond and welcome him to The Arc!

The Leadership Conference will be February 2-3 at the Hilton Lisle.
