Rebalancing Resolution. Representative Cavalotto, R-Salem, has introduced House Resolution 1247 which would request the Auditor General to conduct an audit of Community Resource Associates (CRA) and their work on rebalancing the disability system. This appears to be a pre election action for his area.
Health Care Reform. The Arc’s Family to Family Health Information Center hosted a Health Care Reform for Children with Special Needs in Illinois Seminar last week. It was quite an informative day for families at Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago.
The program featured a presentation by Shea Ako, a father with a toddler in the waiver and families efforts to save the Medically Fragile Technological Dependent Children’s Waiver which is being dramatically changed because of the SMART Act.
