Monday the Steering Committee of the Raise the Wage Campaign met to discuss next steps of our campaign. Right now plans are to call our House and Senate bills for a vote around May 11th. We need your Senators and Representative to become co-sponsors of House Bill 5931 and Senate Bill 2952. We need to continue our momentum after our victories last week in committee. Keep up your good work!

A Regional Meeting on the DSP Crisis is scheduled for May 5th, more details to come. Please let others know of this important event.
The next Ligas Court Hearing is scheduled for May 16th. Please submit your financial information soon so we can make our case for increased wages for Direct Support Professionals!
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, CMS, have approved the first statewide transition plan in the nation for Tennessee. The plan is a managed care model. I hosted a webinar for the Executive Forum last fall about the Tennessee plan with the State Director, Carrie Hobbs of The Arc of Tennessee. Here is a link to the Tennessee CMS Transition Plan and all other submitted plans including Illinois.
At The Arc Convention, Lex Owen and I will be doing a presentation on the new CMS Rules for Community Based Services which includes information on the Tennessee Plan. Join us for this session!
