Yesterday we hosted a webinar for the Executive Forum. It was an excellent event with lots
of important and timely information on national legislative activities, rebalancing, changes
in Individual Support Coordination and the 1115 Medicaid Transformation Waiver.
Today I want to highlight the presentation by Marty Ford, Director of Policy, and Julie Ward,

Director of Health Policy, for The Arc of the United States. Our Governmental Affairs Office
is one of the best in Washington D.C. They are frequently invited to the White House to give
advice on important disability issues, so I was delighted to have Marty and Julie meet with us
to discuss issues in D.C. including the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Arc is an amazing
resource for disability advocates and should be supported by everyone and every
organization that supports individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Here are three resources The Arc has developed for advocates about the ACA that I thought
you would be interested in:

  2. What to Consider When Enrolling in a Health Insurance Plan

Here is a copy of Marty & Julie’s PowerPoint: Washington Update and the Affordable Care Act.
