DESCRIPTION:Education Law:\nA Year in Review (11th Annual)\n  \nWednesday\, June 12\, 2024 \n1:00 PM – 5:00 PM \nFollowed by a reception \n5:00 PM – 6:00 PM \n  \nLoyola University Chicago School of Law \nPower Rogers & Smith Ceremonial Courtroom\, 10th Floor \n  \nThis seminar will address important developments in education law and policy during the past year. The program will feature: \n\nlegislative and policy updates from the Illinois State Board of Education;\na focus on student mental and behavioral health screening;\nupdates on Title IX\, including an overview of the final regulations released in April 2024 and their implications for schools;\nhot topics in special education law; and\na presentation from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights on case processing procedures and federal guidance on student-on-student harassment.\n\nThis program is approved by the Illinois MCLE Board for 3.75 hours of general Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. The seminar and CLE credit for attorneys are offered free of charge. Coffee\, tea\, and light refreshments will be provided during the seminar\, and a reception will be held after the event.
