This is a solo practice with focus on legislation\, public policy\, government relations\, and educational advocacy for children. Phil also has experience working as a Governmental Relations Consultant by which he provided representation of several associations with a focus on rights of persons with disabilities\, education\, and healthcare access. \nThose organizations include: \n\nSpecial Education Legal Consultant for Breaking Autism\, Inc.\nPolicy Advisor to Illinois Assistive Technology Program\nThe Arc of Illinois\nIllinois Council on Developmental Disabilities\n\nFrom 2013-2018\, Phil Milsk served as a Special Education Due Process Hearing Officer for the Illinois State Board of Education. From 1990 to 1995\, he worked as the Director of Legal Services State Support Center of Illinois located in Springfield\, IL. Phil was also the Directing Attorney for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. \nCurrently\, Phil is an active member on the Illinois State Bar Association\, Standing Committee on Disability Law\, Newsletter Editor of Education Law Section Council Delivery of Legal Services and  the State Employment and Economic Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Task Force. \n Phil attended J.D. DePaul University College of Law and received his B.A. from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Nancy will share her journey\nadvocating for Bridget and others to be included. This webinar is for everyone – Self advocates\,\nparents\, and people of all ages who care about helping people live full and inclusive lives. \nBridget Brown is a young woman with Down syndrome who encourages people to “DWELL IN THE POSSIBILITIES”. She is a strong advocate of inclusive education and community living. Bridget is a national public speaker\, an actress\, and a person centered planning coach. She helps people open their minds\, hearts and doors to include people of different abilities. Bridget is the second vice president of the National Association for Down Syndrome where she spearheaded a public speaker training program and a self-advocacy group.  She is the recipient of many state and national awards. Bridget is the co-founder of her organization called BUTTERFLIES FOR CHANGE.  \nNancy Brown has worked with and for individuals with disabilities most of her life. She advocated for her daughter Bridget to be the first students with a disability to be included. Nancy worked with Microboards and was an inclusion consultant for ISBE (Project CHOICES). Nancy and her daughter Bridget  are national inclusion educators through their organization called Butterflies for Change.    Nancy specializes in inclusive education; person centered planning life design\, adaptations& accommodations\, parent issues\, inclusive social emotional models of support\, organizational development\, transition\, storytelling\, as well as access and equity for all students. She is the co- author of Models of Support and Kid Konnections.

SUMMARY:Designing a Life Using Person-Centered Planning
DESCRIPTION:Presenters:  Nancy and Bridget Brown \n https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/6968333478356161294 \nJoin us for this webinar to learn more about tools and strategies to help people design full and\nproductive lives filled with possibilities. Participants will hear how Bridget Brown\, a self-advocate\, used person centered planning to help her find her own voice and present at her own IEP meetings. She believes that this tool helped her learn how to speak for herself and advocate for others as well. Nancy will share her journey using person centered planning to present at Bridget’s meetings so that the educational team would keep Bridget at the heart of the meeting and focus on the possibilities and dreams. She will share her Parents Review design to help parents find their own voice. \nBridget Brown is a young woman with Down syndrome who encourages people to “DWELL IN THE POSSIBILITIES”. She is a strong advocate of inclusive education and community living. Bridget is a national public speaker\, an actress\, and a person centered planning coach. She helps people open their minds\, hearts and doors to include people of different abilities. Bridget is the second vice president of the National Association for Down Syndrome where she spearheaded a public speaker training program and a self-advocacy group.  She is the recipient of many state and national awards. Bridget is the co-founder of her organization called BUTTERFLIES FOR CHANGE.  \nNancy Brown has worked with and for individuals with disabilities most of her life. She advocated for her daughter Bridget to be the first students with a disability to be included. Nancy worked with Microboards and was an inclusion consultant for ISBE (Project CHOICES). Nancy and her daughter Bridget  are national inclusion educators through their organization called Butterflies for Change.    Nancy specializes in inclusive education; person centered planning life design\, adaptations& accommodations\, parent issues\, inclusive social emotional models of support\, organizational development\, transition\, storytelling\, as well as access and equity for all students. She is the co- author of Models of Support and Kid Konnections.

DESCRIPTION:This September we are excited to announce that we will be offering a 3-day virtual course  Sept 8 – 10 2021 focusing on healthy relationships and sexuality for autistic young adults! Groups will meet three times a week for 90-minute group sessions on zoom.       1st option:  5-6:30 pm   2nd option 6:30 – 8 pm \nThe topics that will be discussed will include: \n\nGender identity and expression\nRelationships and friendships\nConsent\nPublic and private\nCommunication and social media\nDecision making and communicating about sex\n\nSessions will be free of charge and open to individuals ages 17-30 who identify as autistic. In order to keep the groups small and encourage participation\, each group will have 10-12 people. \nGroup members will be asked to fill out a brief\, online information packet in order to register for the sessions.
