This presentation will highlight how CARE responds to situations involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)\, including protocols for lost or confused individuals\, community member reports of unusual behavior\, and family calls regarding children or adults with IDD. \nLearning Objectives \n\nAttendees will be able to describe the CARE team’s role and approach to serving individuals  in crisis situations.\nAttendees will be able to identify at least two CARE protocols or strategies that support positive outcomes\n\nJeron Dorsey serves as the Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Evanston and helps oversee the City’s Crisis Alternative Response Evanston (CARE) team. With a background in Public Administration and community engagement\, Jeron has been instrumental in building partnerships between behavioral health professionals\, first responders\, and community organizations to create safer\, more compassionate responses to individuals in crisis.
