DESCRIPTION:IATP Open House and Resource Fair\nDiscover how IATP is changing lives through assistive technology! IATP will be hosting an Open House & Resource Fair on Monday\, October 26thduring two different times throughout the day: 9:00 AM to Noon and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. To achieve this\, we offer numerous assistive technology programs and services to learn about and try AT devices. The Open House is an event meant to educate people across Illinois about the different services offered. It is also a chance to explore IATP’s Demonstration Center. \nAssistive Technology Month\nOctober 2026 has been proclaimed by Governor Pritzker as Assistive Technology Month in Illinois. To celebrate\, we are hosting this event. Marking October as Assistive Technology Month encourages all residents to become aware of the many ways in which assistive technologies contribute to the health\, independence\, and happiness of our friends\, neighbors\, family members\, and co-workers with disabilities. \nDurable Medical Equipment Drive\nHave gently used durable medical equipment (DME) not being used? Donate it to us! During the Open House Event\, IATP is hosting a DME drive. Bring your gently used DME to IATP and come learn more about our programs. \nThe donations will increase IATP’s Reuse Program inventory\, therefore helping more individuals throughout the community. Also\, the DME drive promotes sustainability by giving valuable equipment a second life. Below is a list of accepted items to donate. If you are unsure if your equipment can be donated\, call 217-522-7985 and ask to speak to the Reuse Program. \nAccepted Items\n·      Commodes \n·      Knee scooters \n·      Manual wheelchairs \n·      Rollators \n·      Safety frames \n·      Shower chairs \n·      Transfer benches \n·      Transport chairs \n·      Walkers \nResource Fair\nAlong with learning about the different programs IATP offers\, there will also be community resource tables at the event. You can connect with different vendors to learn about other programs and services in the Illinois community.
