Here is my letter to the Governor on the appointment of Ryan Croke.Governor Patrick Quinn
Dear Governor:
I was sorry to learn that your Chief of Staff, Jack Lavin, is leaving this critical position for you and the people of Illinois. Jack is an outstanding advocate for people with
disabilities and a great partner with The Arc. Jack’s door has always been open to
The Arc and his good work is now transforming the disability system in Illinois. We will
miss him.

I understand that Ryan Croke is going to become your new Chief of Staff. This is a
wise and outstanding decision by you as Governor. Congratulations! Over the years
I have come to know Ryan quite well. He is well respected throughout the disability
community as a person of passion and conviction. Ryan is a logical choice to follow
in Jack’s footsteps.
I look forward to working with Ryan as your new Chief of Staff and pledge to support
him, as we continue to transform the disability system, knowing that everyone can live
a full life in the community.
Sincerely,
Tony Paulauski
