POSITION TITLE:  Outreach/Development Coordinator
 
PositionStatement
The Outreach/Development Coordinator is hired by the Board of Directors to implement policies and procedures established and approved by the Board of Directors.
 
SupervisoryRelationship
 
The Outreach/Development Coordinator reports to the Board of Directors
 
Qualifications – Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Business Administration, Health Administration, Education or another human services field.  Five years of work experience in a not-for-profit social services environment, including a minimum of 3 years of supervisory, key management, and/or Board of Directors level experience. 
 
In addition, this individual’s attributes should include:
 

  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines with quality results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including public speaking and grant writing.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Access and Power Point a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Classification
 
The Outreach/Development Coordinator position is a non-exempt, part time position.  Position hours may vary.
 
Essential Functions

  • Assist clients/families/guardians with program issues, placements and agency referrals.
  • Promote awareness and sensitivity in the community regarding the needs and rights of persons with disabilities
  • Investigate/implement procedures to broaden the membership base.
  • Submit to the Board of Directors regular reports of the activities of the Agency
  • Manage, develop and evaluate programs of the Agency and recommend any necessary changes to the Board.
  • Generate financial support in the areas of sponsorship of special projects, donations, camp program/ property, membership fees, grantsmanship, private foundations, wills and bequests.
  • Supervise agency staff.
  • Perform such other duties as the Board may direct.
