Medicaid Issues Continued:
As previously shared, when HFS rolled over to new software a few months ago, individual and families have faced significant Medicaid issues. We want to share with you a new Medicaid Q&A that tries to answer some of the main questions people are facing related to barriers in accessing Medicaid. We know that many of these answers are only interim solutions and we are advocating for more permanent solutions including identifying a HFS point person for individuals on waivers to problem solve. Check out the fact sheet and let us know if you have questions or concerns. If you have additional issues, you can fill out this form and send it to familytofamily@thearcofil.org.
Medicaid experts will be speaking at the following Arc events:
- March 22 Arc Ligas/Family Support Network Information Session – Free for families (https://the-arc-of-illinois.givecorps.com/events/5322-6th-annual-informational-seminar)
- April 25/26 – Arc Convention (https://the-arc-of-illinois.givecorps.com/events/5697-the-arc-of-illinois-68th-annual-convention)
In addition, here is a link to a general webinar Moving Forward in Managed Care: Working through the Transition, March 1 1:30 pm, (https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2242965626523522049) about the new online Medicaid system Manage My Case even though it is a problem to access without a credit history.
For questions or to provide additional areas of concern, you can email Meg at meg@thearcofil.org.
Don’t forget there are opportunities to work at the Arc of Illinois! Check out the Ligas Family Advocate job description here.
