Name of Presenter and Affiliation: Erin Ross, Founder & Assistive Technology Facilitator for The A.T. Tutor LLC and Assistive Technology Facilitator for Glenview School District #34

Short Bio: Erin has nine years of experience as an assistive technology facilitator and is the founder of The A.T. Tutor LLC. She works full-time at Glenview School District 34. Previously, she was a special education teacher for three years teaching neurodivergent students in fourth through seventh grades.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Define assistive technology and identify its key categories across a variety of needs and age groups.
  2. Understand the feature matching process to determine appropriate assistive technology solutions for individuals.
  3. Recognize and dispel common myths and misconceptions about assistive technology use in educational, home, and community settings.
