Healthy Relationships and Sexuality Education Groups for Autistic Young Adults
This September we are excited to announce that we will be offering a 3-day virtual course Sept 8 – 10 2021 focusing on healthy relationships and sexuality for autistic young adults! Groups will meet three times a week for 90-minute group sessions on zoom. 1st option: 5-6:30 pm 2nd option 6:30 – 8 pm
The topics that will be discussed will include:
- Gender identity and expression
- Relationships and friendships
- Consent
- Public and private
- Communication and social media
- Decision making and communicating about sex
Sessions will be free of charge and open to individuals ages 17-30 who identify as autistic. In order to keep the groups small and encourage participation, each group will have 10-12 people.
Group members will be asked to fill out a brief, online information packet in order to register for the sessions. Group members will also be asked to complete a series of brief questionnaires before and after the training.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in signing up or would like more information, please reach out to Jessi Hinman via email (jhinma2@uic.edu).
