Focus on the Future is The Arc of Illinois’ initiative to reshape how Illinois supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout their entire lifespan. As part of the Disability Partners IDD System Redesign Coalition, we’re ensuring that self-advocate and family voices lead the way in creating a system that empowers informed choices and full community participation. Right now, we’re listening. Through spring 2026, we’re hosting listening sessions across Illinois – both virtual and in-person – in every corner of the state. Your experiences and insights will directly inform policy recommendations that help create a system that’s easier to navigate, grows with each person, and leads to better lives.

These listening sessions will culminate with the Focus on the Future Statewide Summit in Chicago on May 20, 2026.
