Description: Vocational Rehabilitation offers a variety of services to individuals with a disability beginning at age 14. We will explore the different options available and how to access services. These include: services provided to students during their school years, education and training opportunities after high school (including college programs), the different employment contracts offered by DRS Vocational Rehabilitation, and how to apply.
Kristin Wagner worked in various social service agencies prior to joining the State of Illinois in 2007. Since that time, she has worked for Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). Since 2016 she has served as the Manager of Transition and Community Services (TCRS). TCRS monitors and manages all aspects, including training, of the almost 400 Vocational Rehabilitation contracts statewide. These include both adult job placement contracts and the Pre-employment Transition Services for students with a disability. Kristin has a Master of Arts degree from University of Illinois-Springfield and has held her LCPC since 2002.
Jenni Grissom brings over 34 years of public-sector experience, including 26 years with the Illinois Department of Human Services. As the Statewide Coordinator for Vocational Rehabilitation and Related Employment Services for the Division of Rehabilitation Services, she oversees the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program, the SWTCIE demonstration project, and the Williams and Colbert Outreach and Employment contract. Jenni leads statewide efforts to expand competitive integrated employment and strengthening IPS implementation through training, technical assistance, and fidelity oversight. She is dedicated to enhancing employment services and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment.
