Natural Ties is a student-run organization with the goal of providing a safe space for Stritch medical students, faculty, and staff to interact with adult members of the Maywood and surrounding communities living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Emily is currently a third year medical student at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She is originally from Arlington Heights, IL (Buffalo Grove High School), and attended Washington University in St. Louis where she received her Bachelor’s degree before matriculating into medical school at Stritch. She is passionate about serving the local community and working with folks with disabilities, and she is the founder of Stritch’s chapter of Natural Ties.
