Strategies for teaching individuals with I/DD about healthy relationships and sexuality and the role that plays in the prevention of abuse – Sponsored by Connect to Community

November 19, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

The desire to love and be loved is universal, but the myths and misconceptions surrounding people with intellectual and developmental disabilities often lead to rules and restrictions that make healthy relationships difficult to obtain. This seminar will explore tools and strategies for teaching individuals with I/DD about healthy relationships and sexuality and the role that this plays in the prevention of sexual abuse.

PRESENTED BY SUSAN KAHAN, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO
