Appropriate transition planning and services prepare students for life after high school so that they may live independently, go on to further education or training, work, and participate in the community. This training will focus on your child’s right to appropriate, individualized transition planning and services, what this plan and services may look like, and what to do if your child is not receiving these services. Presenters: Our presenter Emily Wilson is a staff attorney and Skadden Fellow with Equip for Equality. Emily’s fellowship project is focused on advising and representing families to ensure that students receive appropriate transition planning and services. Prior to joining Equip for Equality, Emily graduated from William & Mary Law School and earned a Masters in Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico. Emily taught middle school math before attending law school. The contents of this email were developed under a grant from the US Department of Education, #H328M150037.
