Presenter:

Jason Reis is the Employment Services Coordinator for Easterseals Serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford.  He leads a team that creates employment, job training, and volunteer opportunities for individuals with autism, emotional disability, developmental delay, and intellectual disability.  He works with the 3 Easterseals Academies in the Chicago and Rockford areas, and the Harrys Buttons social enterprise.  At the Academies, Mr. Reis and his team address the lack of employment opportunities for adults with ASD by providing work experiences for students while they are still in school.  Harrys Buttons employs adults with disabilities who make buttons (aka pins), magnets, t-shirts, and more.  Over the past 2 years, Mr. Reis has helped create and launch a training program that allows students to explore employment topics through the lens of Harrys Buttons, giving students an opportunity to learn more about the hard and soft skills that are required to perform various jobs at the social enterprise
