The Arc of Illinois Board and Staff wish you peace, love, and joy this Holiday Season.
My name is Kimberly L. Johnson, and it is my honor to serve as the President of the Board of Directors for The Arc of Illinois this year. I am proud to be the first former staff member to serve as President and I am grateful to give my time and support to an organization that has given so much to me and my family.
I am a parent of an amazing young man living with Autism. William is well-rounded, living his dream life as a full-time employee, car owner, and exploring the options of supportive housing. A few years ago, I could not imagine such a rich and full life for my son. The programs and resources provided by The Arc of Illinois helped me navigate adult services including 10understanding DDD waiver services, future planning, transition supports and tools, assistive technology grants, Medicaid, and more.
The Arc of Illinois has been instrumental in my career change to become a professional advocate and activist with a focus on the transition pipeline from high school to adult services. My passion is to support other families who face barriers to services and support.
Your generosity this past year has been very much appreciated. We continue to need your help after this year of difficult challenges including direct support workforce shortages and the devastating stories of abuse allegations in state institutions.
Please consider The Arc of Illinois in your giving this year. Your tax-deductible donation will have a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
Your donation will help The Arc of Illinois continue to work to make sure the services for people with disabilities are kept visibly important to the legislature, bring together advocates, connect people and families, train and educate, and provide resources and support.
Thank you in advance &
Best wishes for this holiday season and a wonderful New Year.
